Dr. Alison Monette, ND, RD
Dr. Alison Monette is a nationally board-certified, licensed naturopathic physician and a registered dietitian. She is the founder of Avena Integrative Medical Center, LLC, located in Putnam, CT. Dr. Monette specializes in prevention and wellness treatments using a whole-systems medical approach that addresses the root causes of chronic illness. Her goal as a physician is to empower the patient to stop managing symptoms and start treating the underlying causes of illness in order to improve their health.
Dr. Monette received a B.S. in dietetics from the University of Connecticut. She then went on to earn her medical degree at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ, one of the five nationally accredited naturopathic medical schools in the country.
Dr. Monette is a native of Woodstock, CT. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) and the Connecticut Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Dr. Duncan Heard, ND
Dr. Duncan Heard is a nationally board-certified, licensed naturopathic physician with an emphasis on classical homeopathic medicine. Homeopathy employs a holistic approach to disease which stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal without pharmaceuticals or surgery in most cases. Whether you struggle with mental, emotional, hormonal or physical health issues homeopathy can help. Dr. Heard also utilizes lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise and stress management strategies to help improve the body’s ability to heal itself. He also works with patients to create treatment plans that meet them where they are but will still address their health goals.
Dr. Heard graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Nutrition Science. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ.
Dr. Chrysanthi Kazantzis, ND, MS
Dr. Kaz is a nationally board-certified, licensed naturopathic physician and a clinical nutritionist. She has a speciality in providing support to make lifestyle changes by using disease reduction programs like FirstLine Therapy and Dr. D'Adamo's blood type diet. Using these methods in addition to analyzing body composition (BIA) using an InBODY 570 machine, she helps patients achieve and maintain healthy body composition, improve overall health, manage disease, reduce risk for serious health conditions and lose weight. Additionally she helps patients to establish personal and realistic goals, monitor progress to keep patients on track, teach them how to eat and shop for healthy, nutritious foods, manage cravings and exercise to build muscle and decrease fat, as well as manage unhealthy stress.
Dr. Kaz earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT.
Dr. Angela McCann, ND, LAc
Dr. Angela McCann is a nationally board-certified, licensed naturopathic physician and a licensed acupuncturist expertly trained in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. McCann was awarded the prestigious 2014 Merit Based China Scholarship. As a recipient of this award she went to China to perform clinical rotations in two Chinese hospitals utilizing acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dr. McCann earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT.
Anna Camacho, APRN
Anna is a board certified family and neonatal nurse practitioner. Working in various settings as a nurse and nurse practitioner, Anna has gained a variety of experiences and learned to adapt to each unique situation. Anna became passionate about FertilityCare and Naprotechnology when she first learned of it as a patient. As the approach is more holistic and patient-centered, Anna knew she needed to become a provider of these services in order to help other women in the same manner in which she was been helped.
Her philosophy is that every woman and couple deserve fertilty care in a manner that is respectful, dignified, and holistic. The goal is not to just treat a client, but to empower them. Education about health and body function is critical in each treatment plan.
