We want to extend a warm welcome to Certified Health Coach and NeuFit Practitioner, Noah Pushor!
Many of you may already know Noah who has been working and studying under Dr. Monette for the last year with Fieldlab. With his background in nutrition and as well as being an L1 CrossFit coach, we are very excited to have him officially joining the Avena team as well. We hope you are just as excited as we are to have Noah with us. Read more about his NeuFit and health coaching background as well as what originally started his own journey into living a functional lifestyle.
Meet Noah: "Like many, optimizing my health and function is a constant, unending journey. One marked by continued education, an open-mind and an insatiable desire for more. But it has been anything but smooth or easy!
Through high school and college, I had an intrinsic understanding that my nutrition, habits and lifestyle were not promoting long-term health. However, in a world filled with conflicting information and influence from social media, it felt impossible to understand what an optimal life truly looked like. For a long time, I felt lost, confused and to a large degree, alone and lacking resources.
Searching for answers, I turned to what I considered foundational to health—science! From there a passion (some would say obsession) was born for a deeper understanding of the body and the environment around us. At the same time, I turned to where I felt most connected—the CrossFit space. Pursuing an L1 certification and seeking opportunities to coach seemed like a natural way to achieve that goal and make an impact on the community I love.
Still, something seemed off about the typical approach to health—solutions were surface level and root causes were never addressed. The individual as a holistic picture was never taken into account and the idea of function was drowned out by the pursuit of performance.
Knowing that I wanted to help change the conversation, I began studying and diving deeper into nutrition as a way to support a functional lifestyle. This lead to the opportunity to learn more about functional lifestyle from one of the best: Dr. Alison Monette. For the last year and a half, I have worked with her, delving into the science behind functional nutrition and helping educate others on how to build an optimal lifestyle through Fieldlab.
My passion for optimizing functional movement and living a functional lifestyle lead me to pursue Certification in NeuFit. Moving well (and without pain!) is just as important when working towards optimal health. By helping others reprogram their nervous system, they are able to heal faster, reduce pain, perform better, and optimize their health. I hoped it would also give me the opportunity to interact with incredible human beings at all levels of their functional health journey and learn from their insights.
Connecting with people in general has become a huge part of my functional life and the opportunity to interact and learn from others everyday has given me a deep understanding of what the world truly needs--function.
The journey towards optimizing my functional health and guiding others towards theirs will never end. And that’s okay—if not welcomed. It’s the process and the connections gained along the way that make it deeply rewarding and ultimately worthwhile. It’s knowing that somebody’s life has changed for the better that makes each day a new and exciting opportunity. Whether a person's journey requires nutritional guidance and support or the need to decrease pain and increase mobility through NeuFit, I am excited to be a part of that journey and help move the needle one step closer to optimal health."
